Alter Ego Project #3: Deadpool / Wade Wilson

Here's the next installment of the Alter Ego Art Project where two artists lend their talents to create a unique work of art.  This collaboration comes courtesy of Pipo Fernando III who did the Superman piece with me.  The Wade Wilson half was very nicely done by Mr. Fernando and I felt a bit of pressure to make sure the Deadpool half does the piece justice.  I think it turned out well in the end.

Here's a quick video of me drawing my half of this project.  Let me know what you think and please show your support by SUBSCRIBING to my YouTube channel and following Pipo and I on Instagram at pipofernando3 and six3artwork.

Till my next post.  Thanks, everyone!

Alter Ego Project #2: The Wolverine

This project was a collaboration with Nathaniel Itoses who is not only a great artist but a huge Wolverine fan.  There isn't much guesswork on the character we were going to draw.  Nathan opted for the younger / Weapon X / Uncanny X-Men / version while I went with the currently popular old man version of Logan.  Hope you like what we came up with.  Feel free to leave me a comment below.  Till my next post.  Thanks, everyone!

Alter Ego Project #1: The Man of Steel

The Alter Ego Project came about when I had asked fellow artist Pipo Fernando III if he wanted to collaborate on an art piece.  The concept was simple.  One artist draws one half of a character then the other artists picks up after and draws the character's alter ego as the other half.  Now this isn't limited to just comic book characters but we decided to start things off with probably the most iconic alter ego in modern day history.

Inked (Left) and Colored (Right)
I started things off with a drawing of our mild mannered reporter.  I used Copic and Letraset markers to color the drawing.

I sent a soft copy of my drawing to Pipo and a couple of days later he completes the piece.  This was loads of fun and I can't wait for the next project.

Let me know if there are any alter egos you'd like to see drawn.

If you want to participate, please let me know (comment below or email me at six3artwork@gmail.com).  The more artists that lend their talents, the better this will become.  Till my next post.  Thanks, everyone!

How I Draw: Batman

This is a time lapse video of a quick sketch of the Dark Knight himself.  I thought this was a neat way to show my work aside from the typical picture posted on social media sites.  Hope you like it and feel free to leave a comment below.  Till my next post.  Thanks, everyone!

ART: Gamora (Guardians Of The Galaxy / Zoe Saldana)

This piece was long overdue and initially intended to be part of my time-lapse video series "How I Draw".  However, with the release of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, I decided to ditch the video and simply sketch her since it would take less time to complete and publish.

I used my Kurutoga mechanical pencil by Uni which houses a 0.7 HB lead.  I usually start sketches with a 3H lead pencil then go over it with an HB lead but doing so risked ruining the paper's surface especially if I had to erase mistakes a number of times even with a foam eraser. (I am such a huge fan of foam erasers. Really, I am. I swear by 'em)

When it came time to ink the drawing, I used my Staedtler artist pens with varying (0.3 / 0.5 / 0.8) tips.

Once I completed the ink work, I scanned the drawing and colored it using Photoshop.  I used my Intuos Pro tablet by Wacom.  I'm still getting used to it which shows in the final product.  Nevertheless, this is an awesome tool and look forward to doing more (hopefully better) pieces as I get more accustomed to using it.

I finished the piece by inserting a background I found on the internet.  Let me know what you think and if you have questions, feel free to post it in the comment section below.  Till my next post.  Thanks, everyone!
